Review Cockneys vs Zombies: Coming to Theater August 2nd, 2013

Cockneys vs Zombies:
Release Date: August 2, 2013 (Fri)
Genres: Zombie Movie, Comedy, British Humor

If you like British humor, good guy criminals, and zombies oh and funny old people, this is probably your movie! Personally I giggle a lot while watching this trailer so I'm probably going buy this movie to add to my zombie movie collection. This movie a bit like Shawn of the Dead and a lot of it's own creation. Honestly, I love it when I get trailers for movies that are this good because it makes me want to go see the movie even more. So if your looking for a good laugh today watch this movie trailer it will make your day.

Review Rising From Ashes: Coming to Theater August 2nd, 2013

Rising From Ashes:
Release Date: August 2, 2013
Genres: Documentary

Is a documentary about cyclist from Rwanda. It looks to be a powerful story that will probably move your heart and maybe make you cry a bit. The story focuses on what a simple thing as a bike can mean to someone, especially someone who has lived through great devastation. In the documentary the bike is a symbol for the young children of Rwanda, it stands for Hope, Redemption, and Second Chances. This is also a story of how a nation was changed by something so simple as a bicycle. This movie was a project of non-profit organizations and was funded completely by donations! That fact right there I think is really cool and makes me want to go this movie even more.

Review Drift: Coming to Theater August 2nd, 2013

Drift:
Release Date: August 2, 2013
Genres: Based on a True Story, Sport, Drama

Drift is coming to theater for the first time August 2, 2013 even though it has already been released on Amazon. Drift looks kinda intense to be honest. For a story surfing before surfing was a big industry. But it's not just about surfing but about a family and their struggles to follow their dreams. It focuses mainly on two brothers who love to surf and create new short board out of their garage. In the movie they struggle with making a go of their business and a drug-dealing gang who wants to use their new business to transport drugs. In all this is kinda a touching story that pretty much anyone who has struggles to follow their dreams, to become a success or has been an outsider can relate to.

Review The Canyons: Coming to Theater August 2nd, 2013

The Canyons:
Release Date: August 2, 2013
Genres: Drama, Thriller

The Canyons looks like not only an interesting storyline but it looks like a movie that was uniquely made. For this movie the makers went off the traditional hollywood film and leaned more towards an independent film avenue. On the KickStarter Page you can hear the makers of the film talk about the process and why they choose to make the movie the way they did. Which I think gives the film a bit of a personal touch.
The film looks like it covers some very real topics for the LA Hollywood scene. Now the trailer didn't seem to actually have a lot of meet for us to really tell what this movie going to be about but it's supposed to have some an interesting plot.

Review Eupora Report: Coming to Theater August 2nd, 2013

Eupora Report:
Release Date: August 2, 2013
Genres: Sci-Fiction, Thriller, Space Travel

Now this is odd… This movie was released to On Demand and iTunes June this year but isn't making it to Theaters until August. Very Curious. I haven't seen this movie but I have heard good things about it which makes me slightly hopeful that this film will be good. But honestly from watching the trailer it really just reminds me of a few other Science Fiction/ Space travel movies that have been released in the last few years. Some I like and others I didn't. I did notice that in this film is Sharlto Copley, who also starred in The A-Team as Murdock. I personally think Sharlto Copley is a great actor so he's probably the main reason I'd go see this movie.

Review The Spectacular Now: Coming to Theater August 2, 2013

The Spectacular Now:
Release Date: August 2, 2013
Genres: Based on a Novel, Comedy, Drama

The Spectacular Now is based on a novel, which I didn't know until like 5 seconds ago, okay maybe more like 5 minutes ago but still. When I saw the trailer for this movie I so thought, "This is probably a book written by a female. Which means it will probably be kinda a sappy love story." Well Ladies and Gentlemen, "I was wrong." The book was written by Tim Tharp. And to be honest the book description actually had me more hooked on wanting to watch this movie then the actual trailer. I think I am going to put this story of a teenage boy who is a turning point in his dead end life on not just my to watch list but my reading list.

Review 2 Guns: Coming to Theaters August 2nd, 2013

2 Guns:
Release Date: August 2, 2013
Genres: Action, Comedy

Marky Mark and Denzel Washington together in a movie!!! My mind is blown. Now for those of you who don't know who Marky Mark is here's a short history lesson for you; Marky Mark i.e. Mark Wahlberg used to be a child singer. I know right, crazy!!! He's also the little brother of Donnie Wahlberg, whom you've probably seen in movies like the Saw Films. I love the Wahlberg brothers I think they are both great actors. I also, love Denzel Washington I think he's a fantastic actor and like pretty much every movie he has done except maybe Fallen (1998) didn't appreciate that movie.

So history lesson over now we'll get back to talking about 2 Guns. This movie look not just Amazing! but it also looks Hilarious! Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington get to rob a bank together, shoot at each other, beat each other up and then solve a crime together. Oh yea and they get to blow stuff up! I'm expecting great things from this movie in both the action and the comedy department especially with Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington on the scene.

Review Wasteland: Coming to Theater July 26th, 2013

Wasteland: Revenge. A Heist. Action. Sounds like a good start for a film to me. Four guys try to take down a drug king pin after one of them was wrongly sent to prison. And a promise for a surprising, suspenseful and exciting twist. I think that I will put this on the to see list. If you like movies about revenge, scheming and crime you should put this on your list too.

Review Stranded: Coming to Theaters July 26th, 2013

Stranded: At first I was like Woot Woot!!! Space! Science! Sci-Fi! Aliens! I'm in! Then, as I got into the trailer I was like, "Hey, I feel like I've seen this before."  Honestly, if you're a Doctor Who fan you might feel a bit like they made a Doctor Who episode into a movie and just made a few tweaks. If you're not a Doctor Who fan but you love Sci-Fi then you might enjoy this film a lot. It does look like a decent movie I think I will just put this one on my list of I might watch it when it comes out on DVD.

Review Frankenstein's Army: Coming to Theaters July 26th, 2013

Frankenstein's Army: Frankenstein Story Meets Nazi's… This looks good, but it could also be epically awful. I do like that they have taken the Nazi's crazy creation ideas from Hell Boy and Captain America and expanded and focused on that story. To me this movie get's me to buy a ticket to see it. I like the war, history, sic-fi and a little bit of crazy in a good film like this. And the movie site is pretty cool too I put the link below so go check it out.

Review Extracted: Coming to Theaters July 26, 2013

Extracted: Okay folks, so Extracted has gotten me all confused. Movie Phone says it comes out to theaters this week, the internet doesn't seem to be able to know what I'm talking about when I look it up. The trailer I found for it on youtube was for the London Film Fest, which was released March 4, 2012. Now just to let you know I have read a lot of comment saying it looks like a rip off of Inception, but I don't really agree with that opinion. I think it looks more like if you liked Inception then you will probably like this movie too.

Anyway, personally think this movie looks neat! I love it when they have good ideas that are mostly original for movies. This is a sci-fi film that deals with memories. So brief description; A scientist invents technology to watch people's memories, but it looks like he gets stuck in a dangerous situation with a man who has been convicted of murder and he is tasked to find out if the man if fact committed the murder by entering the prisoners mind.
I'm excited about this movie it looks like it has a great cast and crew not to mention it looks pretty well made.

Genres: Sci-fi, Drama

Review Blue Jasmine: Coming to Theaters July 26th, 2013

Blue Jasmine: A women who hits bottom and loses the life she knows. Life issues and family issues this a little bit of everything and a lot of real life topics.  Jasmine actually describes the movie best when she says, "Anxiety. Nightmares. And a nervous breakdown. There are only so many traumas a person can stand before they take to the streets and start scream." Blue Jasmine is a Woody Allen film so that should tell you to expect something great out of this film. I'm looking forward to watching this movie especially since it will make an appearance at the Traverse City Film Fest this summer.

Favorite Line: "Can you please not fight in here. I can't take it. For some reason my zanacs isn't kicking in." - Jasmine

Review Apartment 1303: Coming to Theaters July 25th, 2013

Apartment 1303: I have seen the trailer for this several times and each time I want to like it but every time  I am just disappointed. I looks so similar to The Haunting of Connecticut or The Conjuring or pretty much any other horror movie that has been released in the last 3 years. I actually appreciate a good horror movie the sad thing is I don't think I've seen a really original idea out of a movie lately that usually I end up walking away disappointed. So I'm going to say go see it if you love The Haunting of Connecticut and The Conjuring just looks absolutely awesome to you because this movie will be right up your alley. But as for myself I think I will pass and maybe see it when it comes out on video.

Review The To Do List: Coming to Theaters July 26th, 2013

The To Do List: A movie about a girl and sex. Well looking to lose her virginity at least. I think it looks painfully embarrassing and hilarious! Meaning there will probably be parts of the movie were you turn away or cover your eyes because you feel so embarrassed for the main character yet at the same time you keep watching because you know something hilarious is going to happen. Love it! And who can't relate to the awkward moments that will appear in this movie when it comes to being a teenager. I'm making it a point to go see this movie and will probably end up buying it and putting it on the self right next to The House Bunny since it looks to have very similar humor.

Review The Wolverine: Coming to Theaters July 26th, 2013

The Wolverine: Wolverine!!! Yes, that's what I thought too, but unfortunately the first Wolverine movie I was not that impressed with. And I love Wolverine and the X-Men movies they are some of my favorites. This story line focuses on Wolverine becoming mortal. In this installment we meet a new character whom apparently Wolverine saved his life and makes Wolverine mortal. Why he want's to be mortal I guess we'd have to watch to find out. But I'm not putting a lot of faith in this movie being more then just okay/good.  I do hope that it beats my expectations and that all of the good parts aren't just in the previews.

Review Baggage Claim: Coming to Theaters September 27th, 2013

Baggage Claim: Now this looks like a serious comedy/ romantic comedy but looks actually like it could be pretty funny. It's simply about a women who is thirty and doesn't want to be an old maid, so she hatches a plan with her fellow airline/airport employees and friends to find a potential fiance in 30 days. Did I mention on top of that she is picking from a list of former boyfriends and she is traveling up to 30,000 miles. Now that is some dedications if you ask me.
I have found at least two new favorite quotes out of just the preview so I will definitely be watching this movie.

Favorite Line: "Nobody move. I have no life which gives me all day to ruin yours."

Review Tio Papi: Coming to Theaters September 6th, 2013

Tio Papi: Looks to be like a bit of a heart breaker movie, underdog story but most of all it's a story about family. It focuses on the importance of family and what happens to 6 kids when they lose their mom and their bachelor uncle get's custody of them. The reluctant uncle struggles to be a parent when he didn't want to be and then fights the system to keep the family together. This looks heartfelt and like a very good story. I look forward to seeing it and hope it turns out to be good.

Review Inside Llewyn Davis: Coming to Theater December 6th, 2013

Inside Llewyn Davis: This movie is about a folk singers journey to make it as an artist in the 1960's and about his journey and struggles in life. This movie looks to have some good dry humor in it and like it could have some good potential. This movie is music based with a bit of a indie feel and it's about an artist so of course it's a drama. It's has what appears to be a very talented cast with Oscar Isaac playing the lead. I am looking forward to seeing the whole story and if artistic/ indie dramas with dry humor are your thing you will too. I also have to give props to the movie website it gives you a lot of insight and history about the story of the movie.

Review Captain Phillips: Coming to Theaters October 11, 2013

Captain Phillips: Based on a True Story. Another Tom Hanks Movie and he looks to be bringing his A-game. First of all I love movies based on true stories!!! But this looks to be well rounded and well made.
Captain Phillips is about the 2009 hijacking of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama by Somali pirates. The Alabama was the first cargo ship to be hijacked/ hostage situation to occur in two hundred years by pirates. If you don't know the story you can look it up there are several good books about it.

Review Saving Mr. Banks: Coming to Theaters December 20th, 2013

Saving Mr. Banks: A back story on the writing of Mary Poppins. I am so in!!!! Not to mention thoroughly geeked!!! I loved Mary Poppins as a kid and still do.
So what's it about, P.L. Travers the author of the book Mary Poppins story of meeting Walt Disney to adapt her novel to film. We get to see the back story not just behind the making of the film but we get to know the story of Mary Poppins on a more real level. Tom Hanks plays Walt Disney and looks absolutely charming in the part. Emma Thompson plays P.L. Travers who is a bit reluctant to hand over her book to Hollywood.
This film is made by Walt Disney of course, so I think we should expect great things from it. It looks to have a fantastic cast and crew so I'm looking forward to seeing this movie.

Favorite Line So Far: "Well, when does anybody get to go to Disneyland with Walt Disney himself?"

Release Date: December 20, 2013
Genres: Biography, Comedy, Drama

Review of Escape Plan; Coming to Theaters October 18th, 2013

Escape Plan: Is it me or has Sylverster Stallone just gotten more bad ass with age? Not to mention I think his acting has gotten better too! Escape Plan is about Ray Breslin (Stallone) who is a professional escape artist/structural security authority, basically meaning he escapes from prisons for a living!!! Now that's a line that snagged me, but it get's better. He get caught up in a prison that he designed to be escape proof. Then, we get Arnold Schwarzenegger who plays Swan Rottmayer a prisoner in the prison with Breslin, who is helping Stallone's character escape. And then the cherry on top of the story is the Mystery of who set Breslin up. This movie looks to be very promising with Action and a bit of Suspense and a slight hint of Comedy to it. I am going to make a point of watching this movie when it comes out.

Favorite Quote So Far: Rottmayer to Breslin; "You don't look that smart."- Rottmayer  "You don't either." -Breslin
